Jaw Pain, Clicking, Headaches & Tension Relief at Faith in Motion Performance Therapy
Are you dealing with jaw pain, clicking or popping when you chew, chronic headaches, ear pressure, or facial tension?
You may be experiencing TMJ dysfunction (TMD) — and the good news is, physical therapy can help.
At Faith in Motion Performance Therapy, we provide specialized, one-on-one TMJ rehabilitation in Hurricane, WV to reduce pain, restore normal jaw movement, and address the root cause — not just the symptoms.

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects your jaw to your skull and works every time you talk, chew, yawn, or swallow. When this joint becomes irritated, misaligned, tight, or inflamed, it can cause; Jaw pain or tenderness, clicking, popping, or locking, difficulty opening or closing the mouth, headaches or migraines, neck pain and muscle tension, and facial pain or tightness
TMJ issues are often linked to:
Stress and clenching/grinding
Poor posture (especially forward head posture)
Neck dysfunction
Previous injury
Dental alignment issues
Many people don’t realize that physical therapy is one of the most effective treatments for TMJ dysfunction.
At Faith in Motion, we take a whole-body approach because the jaw doesn’t work in isolation — it’s closely connected to your neck, posture, and nervous system.
Your customized TMJ rehab plan may include:
✔️ Gentle manual therapy to the jaw and surrounding muscles
✔️ Neck and upper spine mobility work
✔️ Targeted muscle release techniques
✔️ Postural correction and strengthening
✔️ Neuromuscular retraining
✔️ Education on clenching, grinding, and stress habits
✔️ Performance-based strengthening for long-term stability
We focus on fixing the root cause so your symptoms don’t keep coming back.
TMJ therapy may be right for you if you:
Wake up with jaw tension or headaches
Notice clicking or popping when eating
Feel jaw fatigue while talking
Have chronic neck pain that hasn’t improved
Clench or grind your teeth
Have tried night guards without full relief
You do NOT have to live with jaw pain as “normal.”
Your initial TMJ evaluation includes:

A clear treatment plan and timeline
Many patients begin noticing relief within the first few visits.
